Marlin’s new AutoWeek arrived today. During dinner tonight we browsed through photos of new and concept cars from this year’s Paris Auto Show.
I am delighted with the resurgence of roadsters. I’m not sure when it started, but it certainly caught my attention in a big way with BMW’s Z3. And then came the Audi TT. And the Jaguar XKR. And then … well, maybe a few years down the road I’ll be able to afford a well-cared-for preowned version of one of the these gorgeous vehicles.
While most of the roadsters are beautiful, the trend towards hybrid SUV-cars is producing decidedly mixed results. Some of them look bizarre and strange. Some of them are just plain old ugly. If I were of Aztecan descent, I think I would sue Pontiac for defamation of character because of this.
